Step 1: Identification of SD criteria for the UAE

Sustainable Development (SD) criteria for CDM projects in the UAE includes three main components: social, environmental, and economic). Criteria for SD is illustrated in the "SD objective tree" and applied to local circumstances. The SD Objective Tree adapted to the UAE includes SD criteria, which incorporates most national priorities and objectives.

 

 

On the basis of each predefined SD criteria, the project proposal is assessed in relations to a respective indicator. The CDM project under review for sustainability must be checked against all the indicators in the list. The project should pass all indicators with a "yes" unless some of the indicators do not apply to the specific project
